Sewing and fabric

I promised you some sewing news but did not got around to post the pictures before I left for

my " Girls only " trip.

May was the month of ISA

and she sent us some lovely fabric from Erin Mc Morris ( Wildwood ) to make her blocks.

I`m not through my pictures from my trip to share with you yet.

But one of the places I visited was

Of course I could not resist to make some purchases ;)

( I was well-behaved though but you can certainly imagine that it was very tempting to not be so........)

The lovely fabric with the gifts is from Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup ( The Holidays line) for Henry Glass. I already regret that I did not take the matching fabric with the Ornaments....

Back home I made the two February blocks for the Quilting Bee.

Maria asked to make a disappearing nine patch pattern.

She selected different Christmas themed fabric to make a nice quilt for the next season.

I almost forgot to take a picture of the second blog for Tasha before posting it!

( Had to pull it out of the envelope witch explains the folds...kmhh )

And I started a string quilt motivated by the "No string attached challenge and I can tell you this is fun and veeery addictive!!

Here comes the sun

Out of the gray, fogy plains we went,

up the hills to search the for the

sun.

Then we found it and had the most beautiful views

on the alps!

We spent the day skiing and sledging and recharging our "batteries" only to dive back in the

clouds!

But to add some more colour to the day I will go on cutting in my fabric stash to get some supply for the challenge I` participating.

I`m back

Winter

is a real hard time for me.

I`m struggling with the gray dark days and the cold weather.

This makes me loose all my creative and even everyday energy.

I do love the snow tough and I`m quite good on skis so the only thing that can lift up my mood is when it is snowing and when we are off for a day in the mountains.

But lucky me, I`m participating in the Bee Europe Quilting Bee and so I had to go back to do some sewing and this was the best thing i could do!

I could not stop going through my fabric stash and get inspired whit all the colours and designs...this is better than any professional therapy!

This is the first of two blocks for HANIES.

We are free to choose the design of the blocks she just want the size to be 12.5"

So I had a lot of fun making this block and now I`m off to do the 2. one!

A few things before we`re on the road again

I finished a few UFO`S before we are heading south

to visit my in-law`s for 10 days.

First there was the friendship bag. I started REALLY early but then never finished it until the deadline arrived...

( Will I EVER change this habit?? )

There were some goodies added and a quick drive to the post office later it`s on the way to the States.

Bon voyage, I hope the recipient ( humm, is this the right word for this >: ? ) will like it!

AND I finished Leo`s quilt top!

I wished so much to be abel to finish the whole quilt. But with the garden and the house asking for some attention too there was no way.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the unbelievable beautiful weather we had the past few days, or actually weeks :))

Now the suitcases are packed and we are ready for LA FRANCE.

It is one week since I`m staring at these two samples for my next quilt.

Or to be exact the quilt for Léo...just can`t decide witch of the blocks I prefer.

It will all be in blue and white.

This, at least I have decided.

A looong

time ago, when I started collecting thrifted men`s shirts.

But now I`m blocked.

Suggestions?

I think I have to sleep over this agaaiinn...mmhh??

The bottom fabric is from a sheet we used in Lynn`s cradle.

Is`nt this sweet?

Thinking of sweet, how about a piece of chocolate? This could help to mobilize my decision skills!

A few things

We were swimming in the neighbours pool, we had 27 C° and we were dreaming of an

endless summer.

This was yesterday.

And this is today!

Brrr!!!

How could this happen???
So fast
I`m not ready for autumn yet...


Just finished my summer quilt for the swap!


It will be on its way to someone in the USA tomorrow.


I like it, it makes me smile!

I found the tutorial for the hydrangea flowers in this book.

I also like the book, it makes me dream of future projects...

Hope you have a lot of ideas in your mind too!

Picnic quilt finished oh...

...yesss!

And already in good use..

Yesterday was the perfect weather for just sitting under a shady tree and working on the binding.

Stitching,watching the kids play in their pool drinking homemade Ice-tea and certainly not moving too much...

It was hot!

Very hot!!

The quilt is about 150x170 cm and the colours are perfect for its purpose. I`m very happy with it.

But for now I`m off to catch up on other duties. There is some salsa waiting to be done...

Summer is sooo good!
